Product Review: Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara

To me, mascaras are a dime a dozen, and I really try to avoid talking about them. But every now and then I get one that is worth getting a special mention.

Lately, I have been using the Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara in my Instagram looks, makeup tutorials, and my everyday work makeup.

The end results have been gorgeous.

The Product

The Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara retails for $23 CAD at select Shopper’s Drug Marts and Sephora for the full-size product.

The product comes in jet black and contains a spoolie in a 0.032 Fl.oz tube.

The Application

Initially, I found the spoolie a bit large for the tube. It honestly reminded me of one of those scrubbing wands for a fish aquarium.

That being said it coated the lashed wonderfully, not only volumizing them but lengthening them too.

The only downside to this kind of spoolie is the product sits on the bottom of the tube them ends up clumped when pulled out. I found that I had to wipe the end of the wand religiously to avoid mishaps.

However, the end of the wand is great for getting into the inner corner of the eye to really flare out the lashes.

The Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara was great for lengthening the bottom lashes without making them too long and spider leg like.

In Conclusion

In general, I can’t justify spending more than $5 for a mascara and therefore I wouldn’t purchase this at the full amount. Part of this is due to the fact that mascara is only good for 3-4 months before expiring.

This would be an excellent product to splurge on for date night or for those who are trying to make sparse eyelashes look fuller.

I would definitely purchase this item in a travel size or sample size.
